Open Talk: API’s for Humans - How To Use Empathy to Create a Great Developer Experience

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

It’s no secret that User Experience (UX) is a top priority for consumer facing software companies. The art of simplifying complexity into meaningful end-user experiences is an increasingly important competitive advantage for technology companies. But what about when developers are your end-users? Developers are people too. They’re not machines. So why are companies still building APIs without the Developer Experience (DX) in mind?

In this workshop, Freddy will walk you through examples of APIs that appeal to developers, and those that don’t while addressing the fundamentals and best practices of creating a sought-after API. Attendees of the workshop will also learn why empathy, communication and respect for developers are all critically important in building a successful API and how to integrate these principles into your strategy.
